Dr Gladson Chikwa is an experienced education professional who has worked in Higher Education for more than 15 years. He led institutional learning and teaching enhancement projects in different Higher Education Institutions in China, Oman and the UK. He proudly holds Fellow status of the Staff & Educational Development Association (FSEDA) and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). He has conducted research and published articles and book chapters covering different themes including learner autonomy, assessment and feedback, and technology-enhanced learning. Prior to joining higher education, he worked as a Science/Biology Teacher in high school in Zimbabwe. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in Academic Development in the University Teaching Academy at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is the Founder and current Co-Chair of the ITLSIG.

Dr Huiqin Jiang is an Associate Professor in the School of Law and Politics at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. She undertakes teaching responsibilities for LLB and LLM students focusing on International Investment Law, International Financial Law, WTO Law and International Economics Law. She has a considerable interest in, and enthusiasm for, research in the field of international investment law, with a focus on China’s integration in the international economic legal order. Currently, she is a Fellow of the Herbert Smith Freehills China International Business & Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre at UNSW, and an Associate of the Centre for Cross-Border Commercial Law in Asia (CEBCLA, now the CCLA Centre) at SMU. Huiqin is serving as a Co-Chair of the ITLSIG.

Dr Daniella Spiteri Cornish is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) who is currently employed as a Postgraduate Programme Lead and Lecturer with the University of Leeds, UK. During the past 6 years, she has taught various Healthcare Professionals at both undergraduate and postgraduate level; as well as developing and leading healthcare related modules. In 2022 she was chosen to form part of a group of educators working with Higher Education England to develop a National Genomics Education Programme Framework for undergraduate nursing degrees. Dr Spiteri Cornish is a medical physician whose research interest lies in translational medicine, and in healthcare education over the past few years. As a doctoral fellow she developed methodology for the application of nasal epithelial cells when studying respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD. During her work as an academic, she has developed an interest in the application of technology to develop new teaching practices as well as the use of gamification within healthcare teaching. She is currently the Membership Co-ordinator for the ITLSIG community.

Dr Edwin Rajah is a Principal Lecturer in Otago Polytechnic (Auckland Campus) where he teaches Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, and Research Methods. His research interests are in value co-creation, strategy, authentic learning and has published in refereed journals and presented at international conferences. He is experienced in academic quality management and ethics reviews. His industry experience spans internal audit and systems controls. Currently, Edwin is the Co-Communications Coordinator of the ITLSIG.

Dr. Fahimeh Farjami obtained her PhD in English Language Teaching from Islamic Azad University in Iran. She taught at several universities in Iran and Turkey. Her research interests are based on her fascination with teaching methodologies and ELT issues. She has been exploring them in different skills and contexts in both her research and other practices. She has worked on Grammar Patterns, Maritime English, Vocabulary Teaching and Learning Impediments, Teacher Burnout, Demotivation, Application of Chaos Theory, RALL and Code Switching in Teaching plus many more factors affecting ELT. She is an Assistant Professor at faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, department of English Translation and Interpretation Studies, Istanbul Nişantaşı University. Dr. Farjami is currently Co-Secretary of the ITLSIG.

Dr Josephine Deguara is a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood and Primary Education within the Faculty of Education, University of Malta. She teaches and supervises students in Initial Teacher Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research interests focus on teaching and learning in early childhood and primary education, children’s meaning-making, using drawing as a methodological tool for data analysis, and play and curriculum philosophy, policy and practice. Josephine is the author of several papers and has presented at a number of conferences. She is also a reviewer for several academic journals, is an editorial member of the International Journal of Early Childhood Education (IJEYE), and for a number of years, was country coordinator for the European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA). Josephine is the Research Coordinator of the ITLSIG.

Dr Kakul Agha holds a PhD from Aligarh Muslim University India; MBA(HR); PG in Higher Education Professional Practice from Coventry University, UK, and carries 24 years UG and PG teaching, research, dissertation, internship, consultancy, PhD supervision and student clubs experience in UAE, Oman and India. Since 2014, she is an Associate Professor and Discipline Leader (Human Resource Management) at Skyline University College, Sharjah. At Skyline University, she won “Award for Excellence in Teaching Effectiveness” (2016-17); “Excellence in Services” (2017-18) and “Excellence in Research” (2018-19). She received Award/Certificate from Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Dubai for Mentoring Innovation Projects (2018) and Award/Certificate from Sharjah Government for Supporting and Mentoring Students for Innovation during the UAE Innovation Month (2018). Till 2014 Dr Agha was Head, PG Department, Middle East College, and Visiting Professor, Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman. Dr Agha has published an edited book, cases, book-chapters and research articles in management, work-life-balance and education domains. Dr. Agha is a Fellow, Higher Education Academy, UK since 2010 & has served as Founding Chair of Teaching Effectiveness Committee (TEC) (September 2014-16) and Coordinator, TEC (September 2016-2018) at Skyline University. She headed the Linking MED-GULF, Erasmus-Mundus Project, Sultanate of Oman in collaboration with University of Barcelona (2011). Recently she was part of Faculty Mobility Program through Erasmus+ Program. She provides consultancy on HRM, General Management, Innovation, Work-Life Balance and Happiness etc. to managerial and non-managerial, academic/non-academic professionals and conducts Boot camps on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She has a podcast channel “The Business Bubbles” on Spotify where she relays business tracks. She is a Certified Trainer on Happiness and Work-life balance having 3 certifications from University of Berkeley, US, along with Train the Trainer from UK.

Dr Petty Makoni served in the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare for 23 years as a Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Instructor and Nursing Educator prior to joining Higher Education. She holds a PhD from the University of South Africa. She became the first Deputy Dean of Studies at the Women’s University in Africa from 2005-2008. Her interest in Electoral democracy and good governance led her to serve as a Commissioner from 2010-2016. She also worked at two public universities namely Zimbabwe Open University and the University of Zimbabwe. Her work involved programme designing and teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Nursing. Her research interests include HIV/AIDS education, among other themes, and has published several journal articles. More recently, she completed a Diploma in Biblical Studies and Christian Leadership and is teaching Soteriology to first year Theology students at her church. She is the Research Groups Coordinator of the ITLSIG.

Tian Tian is a Senior Lecturer with over 10 years of experience at Communication University of Zhejiang in China. She specializes in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and possesses excellent verbal communication and writing skills. Tian Tian employs effective teaching approaches that enhance language learning and teaching in Higher Education. Her research interests lie in the areas of Technology-Enhanced Learning, Assessment, and Feedback. Through her contributions, Tian Tian seeks to promote the use of technology to improve language teaching and the achievement of learning outcomes. Tian Tian’s extensive experience, strong communication skills, and passion for research makes her an invaluable asset to the academic community. Currently, Tian Tian serves as the Co-Secretary of the ITLSIG.

Dr Xia Zhu is a Lecturer in Marketing at the Open University, UK. She obtained her PhD from the University of Manchester. Her subject-based research focuses on services marketing and business-to-business marketing. Her research has been awarded by reputable funding bodies, such as British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grant. Xia is also interested in online distance learning, student experience, academic professional development, and higher education internationalisation. She has been working with academics internationally on different projects. She is a Senior Fellow of HEA (Higher Education Academy, now Advance HE). She is the Co-Communications Coordinator of the ITLSIG.

Dr Liqun Zheng is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture and Engineering at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, where she teaches on the Landscape Architecture programme. Her research interests focus on the history and theory of urban development, as well as urban design education, which she has been studying for over a decade and has published several articles in this field. Dr Zheng has a strong interest and enthusiasm for research in the field of higher education and art design education at university level. She is actively engaged in teaching reform, constantly striving to improve the quality and effectiveness of her teaching through the exploration of innovative and blended teaching methods, while also seeking to identify teaching approaches that are well-suited to the current state of urban design education in China. Currently, Dr Zheng is serving as a Committee member of ITLSIG.

Dr Yanmin Zhao is currently a Lecturer and a Programme Coordinator for the Doctor of Education at the Graduate School of the Education University of Hong Kong. Her current research focuses on the professional learning of teachers, pedagogical practice, and workplace learning in applied degree education. She had an experience in publishing journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, and co-authored a course book for college students in mainland China. Currently, Yanmin is the Collaborative Partnerships Coordinator of the ITLSIG.
